Two raiders, one brandishing a screwdriver, snatched about £8,000 from the National Irish Bank in Cork shortly before noon yesterday.

The men, whose faces were not covered, threatened a teller before grabbing the money and making off on foot in the South Mall area. Gardai believe they later used a car to get away. Roadblocks were set up around the city and the Garda appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
