The Government has committed almost £74 million towards spending on childcare services for next year. The money is part of the £290 million promised in the National Development Plan.
The amount earmarked for next year represents a 259 per cent increase on this year's budget of £20 million. £37 million will be spent on training and staffing while £35 million will be spent on creche spaces.
