The £6 million Roscrea bypass was officially opened yesterday by the Minister for the Environment, Mr Howlin, who said he had confirmed the compulsory purchase order for the Nenagh by pass, for which EU aid had been assured.
On the Roscrea by pass, Mr Howlin said that "with the absence of congestion bottlenecks, the community can develop the cultural heritage of the town, introduce traffic calming measures, landscaping, pedestrianisation and decorative street furniture".
