A €6 million funding package has been announced for groups supporting people with disabilities.
Some 64 voluntary and not-for-profit organisations throughout the State will benefit with funding to buy capital equipment.
Minister of State at the Department of Justice Frank Fahey confirmed the package yesterday under the Independent Living Support Programme to assist people with disabilities.
Making the announcement, Mr Fahey said: "This Government is committed to improving and making a practical difference to the lives of people with disabilities, to promoting their integration into society, to changing attitudes and to combating the discrimination and poverty they experience."
