Sixty passengers are feared dead after a Pakistani ferry sank in the Indus river today.

Sixty passengers are feared dead after a Pakistani ferry sank in the Indus river today.

The ferry sank near the southern town of Thatta, 70 kilometres east of the city of Karachi. The navy said it had sent diving and rescue teams to the area.

A provincial spokesman said 80 people were on board the boat when the accident happened.
