ANKARA - Turkish security forces killed 57 members of the separatist Kurdistan Workers" Party (PKK) on Saturday night in south eastern Turkey, officials said yesterday.

The Turkish forces, who have stepped up the battle against Kurdish separatists in the region, launched an operation to flush out rebel fighters who had slipped into Turkish territory from bases in northern Iraq, officials said.
