£500,000 for birth injuries

A woman who was severely injured at her birth 34 years ago was awarded compensation of some £500,000 yesterday.

A woman who was severely injured at her birth 34 years ago was awarded compensation of some £500,000 yesterday.

Ms Joanne Bradley, from Tullyframe Road, Kilkeel, Co Down, who uses a wheelchair, was born in a severely asphyxiated state at Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry, on January 30th, 1966.

She is a quadriplegic and is dependent on carers.
