A £35 million business park and leisure complex, which could create up to 1,000 jobs, is planned for Donegal town. A group of businessmen from the county plan to build a 100-room hotel and 30 apartments with leisure and conference facilities, 30 houses, business units, warehouses, a cinema and water sports facilities. It will be Donegal's single biggest leisure and business development, covering more than 20 acres.

It is expected that a planning application for the development will be lodged with Donegal County Council within the next month. If approved, work is scheduled to start early next year.
