Seoul - At least 34 people were feared dead yesterday after floods and landslides triggered by torrential rain ravaged South Korea, driving thousands of residents from their homes, officials said.

More than 100,000 people were evacuated as muddy waters engulfed the north of the country, where more than 17,571 people have already been left homeless.
