Taipei - Twenty-eight people were injured yesterday, three severely, when fire broke out aboard a Taiwanese aircraft after an explosion in the cabin as it landed in east Taiwan.

The cause of the explosion was not known, but officials raised the possibility of a fire-bomb.

The McDonnell Douglas 90, which had landed after a 25-minute flight from Taipei, was carrying 90 passengers and six crew.
