Ankara - Twenty six people were killed and 49 were injured yesterday in two separate bus collisions in Turkey, sparking renewed official calls for traffic vigilance.

The country has one of the worst road traffic accident rates in the world, with deaths per 100 km some five times higher than in Britain, France or Germany.
