A 25-year-old man was last night charged with the murder of Aidan Byrne in Dublin last month.
Father-of-one Aidan Byrne (33), from Dublin’s north inner-city, was shot 10 times in the passenger seat of a Toyota Corolla at Drumalee Avenue off the North Circular Road in Dublin on February 20th.
The man is due to appear before the Court of Criminal Justice this morning.
Byrne’s killing is believed to be related to the Sheriff Street feud involving jailed rapist and gangland boss Christie Griffin.
Byrne, a convicted rapist, served a five-year sentence for the rape of two prostitutes in a brothel in Capel Street in the 1990s. He was also implicated in an attempted robbery at Cocoon, the now defunct nightclub which was owned by Formula One driver Eddie Irvine.
