The National Millennium Committee has approved an allocation of £1 million in funding for Millennium Festivals Ltd, the first funding approved by the committee. The decision will require Government approval. Exchequer funding totalling £30 million is being made available in 1999 and 2000 for Millennium projects.
The Minister of State to the Taoiseach and chairman of the National Millennium Committee, Mr Seamus Brennan, yesterday switched on a Millennium countdown clock at the AIB centre at Sandyford Business Centre, south Dublin.
