Moscow - At least fifteen people were killed and more than a dozen wounded by a car bomb in Grozny yesterday. It was one of the worst attacks in Chechnya for months, Russian news reports said.

An aide to Russia's chief spokesman on Chechnya said seven people died instantly when a military jeep exploded near a district police station in Grozny. He said 21 people were rushed to hospital and the death toll might rise.
