The Department of Finance says it has searched 12 buildings so far in its attempt to find the missing exchange control files

The Department of Finance says it has searched 12 buildings so far in its attempt to find the missing exchange control files. All are in Dublin.

Searching has taken place in five buildings occupied wholly or in part by the Department. These are: Government Buildings, south block; Lansdowne House, Lansdowne Road; the Setanta Centre, Nassau Street; Frederick Buildings, South Frederick Street; and 73 to 79 Lower Mount Street. A warehouse in Newmarket in the Liberties was searched as was a warehouse in Finglas, where Department files were held before they were moved to Newmarket.

Buildings previously occupied by the Department have also been searched. These are: Earl Court, Adelaide Road; 72 St Stephen's Green; 14-16 Upper Merrion Street; Kildare House, Kildare Street; and Government Buildings, north block.
