Nearly 100 people are missing, feared drowned, after a ferry sank in a southern Bangladesh river today, police said.
They said the ferry carrying about 130 passengers capsized in the Tetulia river, some 30 kilometres (18 miles) from the coastal town of Bhola, after colliding with a larger vessel.
Rescuers found the body of one man several hours after the accident in the afternoon, a police officer said. Search operations were hampered by nightfall.
The officer said 35 people were rescued. No other details were available.
