The National Association of Widows in Ireland (NAWI) said yesterday it feels that widows are discriminated against in all aspects of government social policy.

In a pre-Budget submission, it called for an increase of 10 per cent in social welfare pensions and criticised the "unfair treatment" of widows who work and pay full PRSI but receive only half their sick benefit.
