MORE than £10,000 was taken in a raid on Ballinasloe Post Office in Co Galway yesterday. Two masked men jumped the counter and emptied the tills. Four men took part in the robbery shortly before 10 a.m.
It is believed they left the post office without another large sum of money, which was due to be paid out in child allowances.
Gardai later found the stolen car the thieves used in a housing estate in the town. Clothing was recovered. Gardai believe one of the men was armed.
