£1.5m Moate arts centre

A £1.5 million arts and enterprise complex in Moate, Co Westmeath, which has won community development and enterprise awards, was officially opened yesterday by the President, Mrs McAleese. Tuar Ard, which houses a small theatre, a gallery, a conference centre, and five enterprise units, raised nearly £400,000 of its construction fee locally. It also hired local workers through FAS to build the complex.
