Two for joy

New shop in Ranelagh

Magpie is a recently opened interiors and accessories shop in Ranelagh that is, as its name suggests, a haven of unexpected treasures. It is the brainchild of two longterm friends, Juliet O’Carroll and Laura Bradshaw, and developed from their collective experiences and careers in fashion and interior design.

Bradshaw opened adventurous fashion boutique, Aura, in Sandymount, while O'Carroll worked in textile and product development in London, India and Italy before returning home with her family. The shop is full of colour and pattern, and has a homely, artisan feel – nothing the pair select is mass-produced. They also respray and refresh furniture in Farrow & Ball colours. Current offerings include these Moroccan leather flip-flops, €33, sourced from France. See magpietrading.ie
