Magical Kingdom

Win a weekend for two

Named after a hill of the fairies, there's definitely a sprinkling of magic in the air at Ard na Sidhe Country House in Killorglin, Co Kerry.

The romantic 18-bedroom Elizabethan hotel, which was built in 1913 by gardener and writer Lady Edith Gordon, sits on the shores of Caragh Lake and is surrounded by 32 acres of gardens, walks and a beautiful rock garden first planted by Lady Gordon.

It reopened this week following extensive refurbishment, blending modern comforts with its collection of antique furniture and art. In the restaurant, head chef Dylan Kelly will serve up local ingredients such as Kerry lamb and cheeses and fresh fish from the Atlantic until the hotel closes for the season on September 30th.

The Irish Times is offering readers the opportunity to win a weekend for two at Ard na Sidhe, including bed and breakfast, dinner on one evening and an afternoon on the lake.
