Other people’s homes and the art, furniture and collectibles they fill them with are an enduring fascination.

Some are more inspiring than others, and then there are the ones that we queue up and pay to visit.

Lismore Castle in Co Waterford opens its doors to the public for a talk given by its owner, the Duke of Devonshire, on the treasures within and at the family’s Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.

The event takes place in the castle on February 12th at 7pm and tickets, €15, must be pre-booked by calling 058-54061.
