Outdoor art at Killenure Castle

One of the lovely things about summer is getting to see art in the outdoors, without freezing your faculties off in the process.

Just outside Cashel in Co Tipperary, Killenure Castle is the atmospheric setting for OAK, the indoor/outdoor exhibition which this year is put together by artist Pauline O'Connell.

Discover works by artists including Maud Cotter, Daphne Wright, Marie Foley, Sonja Landweer, Michael Canning and Michael Fortune in the woodlands, stables, hay lofts and gardens along a specially laid out trail. O'Connell was fascinated by the idea of ghosts of the past, and it's intriguing to see what the artists have made of this haunting idea – from Aoife Banville's installation of light bulbs and mirrors in the trees, to David Fitzjohn's paper forest. Open 10.30am-2.30pm daily until June 30th, €5/€3 concessions. killenure.com
