New trimmings

Elaine Murphy’s Woollen Mills Eating House – a stylish cafe, takeaway and bakery – has opened on Dublin’s Ormond Quay overlooking the Ha’Penny Bridge. The cool Skandi-style interior, with its pale floors and walls, makes the most of the lovely views of the bridge and the Liffey from the first floor while a bright, spacious terrace overlooks Liffey Street. The architects behind the revamp were Kenny Kane.

There are further plans to open another eating area outside under the awning. Managed by Parisian Ludo Chantrefous formerly of Ard Bia in Galway, the Woollen Mills Eating House is open six days a week from 9am to 11pm.

Also on sale are handsome “Food Scribblings” notebooks (€8.50), specially handbound by Duffy Bookbinders, Ireland’s oldest bindery.
