Routes to avoid during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Queens Rd/Windsor Terrace/Newtownsmith & Park Rd closed from noon - 8pm on Saturday August 28th & Sunday August 29 th , for events in the Festival of World Cultures 2004. Local access will be maintained at all times. A traffic management plan will be in operation and diversions will be signposted.
From next Monday a one way system controlled by traffic lights will be in operation on Deansgrange Road from its junction with Stradbrook Road to its junction with Kill Lane, for road reconstruction. A traffic management plan will be in operation. Parking facilities will continue to be restricted.
MEATH: Works south of Ashbourne on N2, expect 10-15 minute delays on both approaches. Temporary traffic lights are in operation. Motorists should use an alternative route.
Until Friday, repairs on N2 on the Slane side of Ashbourne between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
KILDARE: Works on N9 in Castledermot with a stop/go system from 8am-6pm and temporary traffic lights from 6pm overnight. This is for an archaeological pre-dig in advance of drainage works. Take an alternative route if possible.
LAOIS: To complete necessary works at Ballydavis interchange and the south tie-in of the M7 Heath Mayfield motorway, the following roads will be closed:
1. The Raheen Road (L-3811) from the M7 motorway off-ramp at Ballydavis interchange in the townland of Ballydavis to the junction at the Old Post Office in the townland of Raheenahoran. 2. The existing M7 northbound on-ramp in its entirety at Ballydavis interchange in the townland of Ballydavis. This closure will not affect traffic already on the motorway travelling northbound.
3. The existing M7 southbound off-ramp in its entirety at Ballydavis interchange in the townland of Ballydavis.
Works on N80 (Mountmellick to Portlaoise Road), from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WEXFORD: Works on N80 at Carrigduff, Bunclody. Traffic controls will be in place. Serious traffic delays, use use alternative routes if possible.
LIMERICK: Major works at Tipperary Roundabout on the N24 Tipperary Rd. Traffic should go via Roxboro Rd and Mulgrave St and inbound traffic should go via Mulgrave St Roxboro Rd or City centre. The Ballysimon Roundabout will not be closed and through traffic will be maintained on the N24. To enable these extensive works to proceed, traffic diversions will be in operation and sections of the Childers Road R509 will be closed to all through vehicular traffic.
GALWAY: Pipe laying on N18 between Claregalway and Oranmore. Works in the region of Cashmore Cross, delays expected.
Pipe laying on Barna to Galway Rd the R356, between 7 a.m and 7 p.m., expect delays.
WATERFORD: Works on Tramore Rd at Ballindud. Temporary traffic lights are in operation and delays are expected.
CORK: Traffic diversion on Garrynacole Rd in Fermoy.
Roadworks on both Michael Collins Bridge and Eamon De Valera Bridge. Single lane traffic both directions between the two bridges. Major delays likely.
