Routes to avoid around the country in the week ahead:
DUBLIN:
The Dart station at Strand Road, Sutton, will be closed for several weekends for construction work. The alternative route is the Main Street, Baldoyle, Warrenhouse Road, Baldoyle Road and Dublin Road to Sutton Cross
Cosh Level Crossing, Lauder's Lane, Sutton, will be closed from 7 a.m. on Saturday next to 6 p.m. on Sunday next. The alternative route is by way of Burrow Road to Junction with Claremont Road to Junction of the Claremount Road/Howth Road (R105) to Station Road to Lauders Lane .
The Dublin Simon Community Fun Run will take place in the Phoenix Park on Sunday next. Surrounding roads will be closed from 1.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m. : Chesterfield Road, Survey Road, Upper Glen Road and Military Road. Acres Rd will be closed from 12pm to 4.30pm.
Knockmaroon Gate will be closed to traffic. Entry by way of the Chapelizod Gate will be restricted to hospital traffic only. Parking will also be restricted for the event.
CORK:
Jack Lynch Tunnel and Little Island access road will be closed to normal traffic overnight from 8pm to 7am this evening, Thursday evening and Friday evening.
During the day today, tomorrow and Friday, the tunnel and its approach roads will be open to traffic as normal.
Expect delays on the South Link Road westbound dual carriageway between Douglas Bridge and Kinsale Road roundabout.
There will just be one lane in operation until tomorrow over Douglas Bridge due to surfacing works. Earthworks are to take place along the South Link Rd until about Monday October 21st. Delays are likely at rush hour.
KILKENNY:
Temporary lights and roadworks will be in place on N78, Castlecomer to Athy Road at Crettyard until the end of October at least. Major delays are likely.
LOUTH:
Roadworks and a diversion will operate on the N1, Inner Relief Road in Dundalk until December 1st.
Diversions are clearly signposted and in place 24 hours a day - turn left onto Blackrock Road and back onto the Inner Relief Road.
WICKLOW:
The road between Rathnew and Glenealy will be reduced to one lane at regular intervals during the day to facilitate construction of bridge for the Rathnew bypass between 9am and 4.30pm. The disruption will continue until the end of October.
KERRY:
Ongoing roadworks will continue on the N70 in Killorglin Town along Upper Bridge Street until November 4th. Diversions are via Mill Road.
