PEUGEOT DEALERSHIP Tom Kilroy Motors of Limerick is to close in the autumn following the decision of Mr Kilroy to retire.
After 47 years in the motor business, Mr Kilroy says there is no family interest in inheriting the dealership.
The staff, which only recently numbered 22, will finish up by September and the two-acre site will go up for sale.
The premises was redeveloped seven years ago.

Kilroy said that, at 65 years, it is time to retire, particularly as he sees no immediate recovery for the car market.
“There is some action on secondhand cars but the new emissions tax system has devastated the new car market,” he says.
He also blames the difficulty customers face these days in securing finance on the severe downturn in the new car market.
