80th birthday of North West
The North West 200 road races celebrate their 80th anniversary this year.
One of Ireland’s oldest road races, which first took place in 1929, will take place on Saturday, May 16th.
Two North West heroes launched the event last week, six-time North West winner, Steve Plater, and Michael Rutter, who confirmed he will ride a new NW200 R1 Yamaha bike under Rob Mac Racing.
2010 Moto GP at Silverstone
UK racing circuit Silverstone is preparing to host the 2010 MotoGP races.
According to MCN magazine, MotoGP organisers have snubbed the use of the new Donington Park circuit in favour of a larger sanction fee from Silverstone, believed to be double what Donington Park were prepared to pay.
Silverstone bosses have confirmed their interest in hosting the race and have begun discussions on what changes would need to be made to the circuit to secure the event, according to MCN.
Honda reveals electric moped
Honda has revealed it will have an electric moped on sale by the end of 2010.
The environmentally- friendly scooter will be built as a zero-emissions alternative to a petrol-powered 50cc moped. It uses a 360kw light nickel hydrogen battery in an aluminium chassis.
According to Honda, this scooter will have plenty of storage space and will be aimed at the busy commuter.
