BMW launches new 'K' series
BMW Motorrad will launch their new K1300 series in February. The three K1300 motorcycles include the K1300 S with 175hp, the K1300 R with 173hp and the K1300 GT with 160hp.
The new K series bikes feature updated transmission and clutch assembly, plus smoother engine performance and new switchgear.
Both the K1300 S and the R will also have the shift assistant – familiar from the HP2 Sport – available as an option for the first time.
The chassis has been advanced and the new lower longitudinal strut is now made of aluminium, making it much lighter.
BMW says "the result of this comprehensive development is superior handling, improved rideability and lower fuel consumption".
Dutch diesel bike in late 2009
Dutch company EVA is set to launch the Track diesel motorcycle later this year.
It uses a three-cylinder 800cc diesel engine. It is set to deliver 100 miles per gallon at a steady 55mph, so you shouldn't be complaining about having to fill the six-gallon tank too often.
The Track will be available for buyers outside the Netherlands after September and will cost around €17,500.
