David Quirke clearly has a sharp eye for current trends. He's best known for two of his business interests: Nude, the restaurant chain serving up organic food and juices and the Skooter shop which sells two-wheel transport to gridlock-jumping commuters.
He's now selling his house at 1 Talbot Road, Killiney and throughout the renovated terraced house there are signs that the owners are also interested in current trends in interior design.
The house is for sale by private treaty through Douglas Newman Good which is looking for offers in excess of £350,000 (€444,410).
David and his wife Emma bought the house in 1997 and employed architect Colm Duggan to redesign it.
That meant greatly extending and reworking how the house is lived in.
Now the three bedrooms and the bathroom are downstairs and the living area and the kitchen are in the open-plan first floor.
As the house is end of terrace, a deck that wraps around part of the side and continues around the back could be installed to give the house an elevated back patio and to maximise the views of the sea and Killiney Hill.
The L- shaped first-floor means that while the space is airy and open-plan, the kitchen is out of the eyeline of the living area. It has been fitted with cream-coloured units and has a cast-iron fireplace along one wall. The floor throughout this level is polished wood.
The living area is painted a deep purple and has a porthole window as well as access via two sets of double doors out on to the patio.
As light comes into this first floor from three aspects, it is particularly bright and airy. The house was rewired by its present owners who took the opportunity to install several spot lights in the angular ceiling.
At hall door level are the three bedrooms, two doubles and two single.
The main bedroom is painted a vivid pink and has good built-in wardrobes. The other double has a wood-panelled ceiling and a parquet floor.
The all-white bathroom is mostly tiled. The triangular shaped deck at the back of the house is south facing and there is another deck on the roof.
