PROPERTY COMPANIES are getting down with the kids and embracing the iPod and eBay generation. MyHome.ie has a new property search facility which can be used with the iPhone and iPod Touch. It accesses GPS-based searches of properties, offering photos, floor plans and maps. The MyHome iPhone App can be downloaded free from the Apple iTunes App Store.
You can also now bid for UK properties eBay-style through BidProp. Buyers bid on properties that are listed for seven, 14 or 21 days and once the auction is over the successful bidder has seven days to exchange contracts.
This gives buyers more time than in a traditional auction where decisions have to be made on the spot and homes bought and processed on the same day.
It also helps vendors to secure a sale in a set amount of time. BidProp has launched with properties for sale in London.
It aims to cover the whole of the UK within 12 months and the rest of the world by the end of next year. See www.bidprop.co.uk.
