It is likely that families will be out in force around the buildings of Dublin on the weekend of October 7th-9th, if only to get a free jaunt on the Luas.
The Luas network has joined forces with the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) on Destination Luas, a partnership project as part of the popular Open House Dublin weekend.
As well as four free Luas tours about architecture, landscaping and urban planning, they are giving away 500 free family one-day all-zone tickets for two adults and up to four children and special Luas Activity sheets.
There will also be posters at Luas stops to guide passengers to nearby Open House Dublin buildings and events
Over the Open House Dublin weekend, almost 100 Dublin buildings of all types and periods will open up their doors for citizens and visitors to explore the architecture of the city, with special tours by hundreds of professionals and enthusiasts, completely for free.
The theme is the Architecture of Change and explores how good design can be a catalyst for change and positively touch all our lives: from large-scale master planning to small but skilful interventions in residential design.
Free Destination Luas” tickets will be available to the public from September 19th on luas.ie.
All events are free of charge and only a small proportion require pre-booking, which opens online at September 19th. See architecturefoundation.ie/openhouse for programme details.
