Greystones/€800,000: Glengarra, a charming period house just two minutes' walk from Greystones Harbour, is a double-fronted 178 sq m (1,915 sq ft) property dating from the late 1800s.

It will be auctioned on July 7th through joint agents Lisney and David Tempany, who are guiding €800,000.

The current owner lives abroad and bought the property as a holiday home seven years ago. Since then it has been refurbished and has had a kitchen added to the rear. This is in a country style, with limed oak cupboards and vaulted pine ceiling.

It has a ceramic tiled floor and is equipped with a double Siemens oven, four-ring hob and has a built-in fridge, freezer and microwave. There is a utility room off it.

Below the kitchen is a storage room in which sporting equipment, such as bicycles, and marine paraphernalia, including canoes, are currently stored.

Natural light has been encouraged into the house through roof lights in the new kitchen and in the upstairs bedrooms.

On the ground floor there is a large drawingroom with a ceiling rose and cornice work, a cast-iron fireplace with a slate hearth and a smaller family room that leads into the new kitchen.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one of which has views of Greystones harbour; one of the bedrooms has an en suite. The bathroom is on the first floor return.

There is a raised patio at the back of the house.
