The Irish have a great longing for buying property and this has a basis in our history and the fact that we were once largely a tenant class ruled by another country. We have traditionally gone for freehold property but in London it is possible to buy property, with a 20-30 year lease. Mr Walsh is an exception to the rule and the law in this country doesn't cater for exceptions.
