No 55 Woodbine Road, a 176sq m (1,894sq ft) four-bed semi, is for sale through Lisney for €1.25 million. It has a D1 Ber. The property has generated strong interest since it went on the market in mid-April, mainly from people trading up who want more space, says Lisney agent Stephen Day, adding: "It's difficult to find a house in walk-in condition." Prices of over €1 million for a good number of houses similar to this seem to be no deterrent.

Double doors open into the front hall which, like the extension, is floored with pale ceramic tiles. The kitchen has black polished-granite countertops and island unit and a large cream Aga radiating heat. A step down in the corner of the kitchen leads to a small utility room, with a door to the side passage outside.

The living room has built-in shelves along one wall, with a raised glass-fronted electric fire inset with a limestone mantel. There’s plenty of room for comfortable seating as well as a large dining table, all overlooking the back garden.

Double doors open from the living room space into two connecting reception rooms: like all the house, they’re decorated in neutral shades, with cream carpets and matching open fireplaces with pale grey limestone mantels.
