The supply of large family properties in walk-in condition located in popular Dublin suburbs has tightened considerably since March. Many homeowners who might have planned 2020 as the year to trade up, or down, have held back.

The two lockdowns coincided with what are traditionally the biggest residential property selling seasons – spring and autumn. Those family houses that made it on to the market tended to sell or at least go sale agreed very quickly, despite the various restraints posed by Covid-19 restrictions.

Number 50 Riverside Drive, Rathfarnham, will tick all the right boxes for many large families on the move who have been frustrated by the lack of supply in the neighbourhood, particularly families in smaller properties in Churchtown or Rathfarnham looking to trade up and to remain in the area. In terms of property transactions, this tends to be a local market.

Riverside is one of three roads in Castle Park close to the Castle golf club – the others mostly McIlvenna-built in the 1940s and 1950s being Woodside and Hillside. These three roads are regarded by locals as the most sought after in the area.
