Interest in property in Galway is on the rise and that trend looks set to continue next week when O'Donnellan & Joyce host what they are calling the largest ever property auction outside of Dublin on Friday, May 9th.
A recent MyHome.ie study of the Property Price Register showed that the market in Galway was growing at almost twice the rate of Dublin, with transaction levels last year jumping by 32 per cent compared with 2012. Things have continued in that vein in the first quarter of this year with sales up by 47 per cent on the same period in 2013.
O'Donnellan & Joyce's all-day auction at the city's Harbour Hotel will be divided in two, with 21 commercial properties going under the hammer at 10.30am, followed by 26 private residential properties selling from 3pm.
Prices for houses range from €15,000 to €675,000, with the bulk of the interest expected to be generated by the sale of two properties in the Taylor’s Hill area of the city.
12 Ard na Coille is located in an exclusive development at Maunsells Park and has five bedrooms and 186sq m (2,000sq ft) of living space. It has an AMV of €550,000.
Meanwhile, 9 Averard West is a six bed over three floors with an AMV of €675,000, and the brightest yellow exterior we’ve come across.
