Dublin 15: from €275,000: Part of The Village scheme in north-west Dublin is going on sale this weekend. Near a railway station, it comprises one, two and three-bedroom apartments, writes Kate McMorrow
The second phase of the village quarter at Rathborne, a new residential area off the Navan Road in Dublin, is being launched this weekend.
Prices start at €275,000 for one-bedroom apartments at The Village at Rathborne, which are for sale off plans through Hamilton Osborne King from a marketing suite on site, where two walk-through show units will be on view.
Located off the Halfway House pub roundabout on the Navan Road, Rathborne is Castlethorn Development's section of a major new residential area in North Dublin.
Ballymore has built the adjoining Royal Canal Park.
The first phase of Rathborne, comprising 260 townhouses, duplexes and apartments, was launched in 2003 and is now occupied.
Comprising three blocks beside the Royal Canal, the village quarter of Rathborne will comprise 270 units in total when complete.
A total of 120 one, two and three bedroom apartments are on offer this weekend. Some apartments will have views over the Royal Canal.
One-bedroom 45-65sq m (484-703sq ft) apartments are priced from €275,000. Two-bedroom apartments, measuring 69-100sq m (748-1,076sq ft) are priced from €365,000 and three-bedroom penthouses with 88-112sq m (955-1,205sq ft) of living space are priced from €450,000.
Prices for one and two-bedroom apartments include one underground car-parking space, while three-bedroom units come with two parking spaces.
The Village will also incorporate two restaurants, a supermarket and around 10 other retail units.
The fit-out at The Village will include smart modern kitchens with high-gloss units and integrated kitchen appliances as standard. Wall and floor tiling are standard in the bathroom as well as shower doors and bath screens. All balconies are finished with timber decking and there is good storage space off the entrance hall.
While Rathborne is close to the M50 the big attraction for city centre workers is the adjacent Ashtown Rail station. The station was upgraded a number of years ago, there are plans to increase frequency on the line.
Completions are due for the end of 2006 and start of 2007, according to the selling agent.
