Bargain HunterNovelist and designer Douglas Coupland has created a furniture line for Canadian luxury designer Switzer Cult Creative, aimed at those with literary sensibilities and inspired by his time in Japan.

It includes bookshelves, lamps, a chair and escritoires, his preferred term for the humble writing desk. The pieces don’t yet have a European distributor but can be ordered directly from Switzer Cult Creative (switzercultcreative.com). The ebonised Bento Box escritoire costs about €6,966. A Ryoan-Ji floor lamp costs about €2,985, and a desk lamp in the same design costs €990 (all excluding shipping)
