Dundrum: €1.1mThe owner of a Sorohan-built detached four-bedroom house at Wesley Lawns in Ballinteer, Dublin 16, is involved in the high end timber flooring business, and so new owners will be walking on solid cherrywood in the large open plan living-cum-diningroom.

The 158sq m (1,700sq ft) house dates from the 1980s but has been updated and redecorated in recent years and comes with planning permission to convert the attic to a 20sq m bedroom. There is off street parking in front of the house and side access to a granite walled, west facing back garden. Sherry FitzGerald is asking €1.1m by private treaty.

Killiney: €7 million

Any house with a large level garden in the Dublin suburbs is a sure target for development these days. Take Harrow House, a Georgian home behind a high wall on Church Road in Killiney, close to the N11 and Cherrywood interchange. It's a handsome two-storey house on 1.18 acres of grounds but the fact that it is being sold through commercial agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald means the land is likely to be built on. The property will be auctioned on March 14th. Church Road is undergoing major changes with a number of its houses having been purchased for redevelopment. Watch out for apartment blocks all round.

Dun Laoghaire: €825,000

A period cut-stone cottage at 2 Lower Mounttown in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin, is on the market through Douglas Newman Good with an asking price of €825,000. Racefield Cottage looks tiny on the outside, but in fact it has 92sq m (1,000 sq ft) of living space, all of in need of refurbishment. It's a three-bedroom house with a pleasant hallway with decorative archway; a 19ft livingroom with windows front and back, and a large kitchen overlooking the back garden. There is off-street parking in front of the house and scope to extend into the sizeable back garden.

Co Laois: €1.25 million

A lavishly fitted four-bedroom house at the Heritage Golf and Spa resort in Killenard near Portarlington, Co Laois, may tick the boxes for wealthy retirees as it comes with two golf club memberships. Described as "the last word in opulence" number 11 Rathmiles Grove is a large detached house that comes complete with furniture, The 273sq m (2,938 sq ft) house has a marble floored hallway, two formal reception rooms divided by classical columns, and a further sittingroom leading to a study. The property is being sold through the resort, where Marie Delaney is handling sales.

Lucan: €1.5 million

A Liffeyside house and adjoining bungalow on the edge of Lucan village might look like a modern spread but in fact parts of it date back to 1760. Weston Lodge, off Cooldrinagh Lane, Dublin 20, has its own private jetty, and fishing rights to the river's Salmon Leap. Once a hunting/fishing lodge for the Guinness family, Weston Lodge is now a substantial four-bedroom house set on 0.7 of an acre of grounds. The main house has around 233sq m (2,507sq ft) of living space, while the bungalow is 113sq m (1,215sq ft). The property will be auctioned by Lisney on March 7th. The AMV is €1.5 million.
