Stuart Purcell replaces Conor Dodd, leaving to join Glasnevin Cemetery Museum

Whyte's auctioneers has appointed Stuart Purcell as head of collectibles. He replaces Conor Dodd who has left to join the staff of the Glasnevin Cemetery Museum.

Purcell is a graduate of Southampton University and has 15 years experience as a valuer and advisor to corporate clients, loss adjusters and collectors.

He presents Cash or Trash on TV3's Ireland AM, in which he appraises collectibles submitted by viewers – a slot described by the broadcaster as designed to "help you squeeze cash out of dust-gathering heirlooms".

Whyte’s holds two major History, Literature & Collectibles sales a year. Free valuations are available – by appointment, for items including antiquarian books, autographs, banknotes, cigarette cards, coins, ephemera, medals, manuscripts, maps, militaria, photographs, pop and rock memorabilia, posters, postage stamps, postcards and toys. The next sale will take place in the autumn.
