Wednesday, May 1st, Niall Mullen and Victor Mee, Heritage Hotel Portlaoise. Panelling from the second class area of the HMSH Britannic, sister ship of the Titanic, sold for €151,000 (€200,000-€300,000), while panelling from the first class area achieved €150,000 (€250,000-€350,000) in a long bidding war between the room and an internet bidder.
Tuesday, 30th April, Adam's, St Stephen's Green. Mid-Century Modern Sale. More than 70 per cent of lots sold on the night with further sales the following morning reaching an 80 per cent sale rate. The highlight were the art works, most notably Mark Francis, Critical Mass, which sold for €32,000 (€15,000-€25,000) making it the highest price for a Mark Francis painting in the past 12 years. John Doherty's Devane's sold for €41,000, just above its high estimate of €40.000. Callum Innes Cadmium Red Deep on Black achieved €26,000 (€20,000-€30,000) a fair increase on his similar Untitled work which sold at Adam's in late 2018 for €20,000 – within the same estimate.
The biggest surprise of the evening was Dove by Conor Fallon, which achieved over three times its lower estimate of €3,000 selling for €9,800. Mid-century furniture sold well with lot 46, an oval dining table achieving its lower estimate of €8,000, and the Ico Parisi magazine rack sold for €1,200 – over double its lower estimate. The Hermès modular wardrobe sold post-auction for €1,000 (€1,500-€2,500).
Tuesday, April 30th, John Weldon, Cows Lane, Temple Bar. More than 87 per cent of lots sold including a diamond solitaire 1.01ct €5,700 (€5,000-€7,000) and a pair of diamond stud earrings, 1.9ct in total, €2,700 (€3,000-€5,000). A diamond full eternity band sold for well over its higher estimate of €1,200, achieving €1,600.
Monday, April 29th, Morgan O'Driscoll, Irish and International Art Sale, RDS Paul Henry's Achill achieved €185,000 (€150,000-€250,000), Jack B Yeats, Spring Tide Schull sold for €45,000 (€50,000-€70,000), Letitia Hamilton's Roundstone Harbour sold for €18,000 (€15,000-€20,000) and the two Francis Bacon signed lithographs achieved €11,000 each (€10,000-€15,000).

Friday, May 24th, Christie's London Science and Natural History sale to include a near perfect, rare skeleton of a dodo bird dating from pre-1690, (£400,000-£600,000). The last accepted sighting of the now extinct bird was recorded in 1662 in its native Mauritius.
