The jewellery and silver auction in O'Reilly's Auction Rooms on Francis Street, Dublin at 1pm on Wednesday includes a Victorian silver sugar tongs and an Edwardian silver Vesta (for holding matches) both engraved with the ducal crown of the Dukes of Leinster from Carton House and each estimated at €150-€250. But most of the auction is devoted to a selection of antique and modern jewellery.
An emerald ring features a 6.59ct stone of Colombian origin and is estimated at €20,000-€25,000; an Art Deco bow brooch set with princess and circular cut diamonds, with an estimated weight of 16.00ct is €9,000-€11,000; and a pair of Art Deco diamond circular earrings, set with 4.00ct of old-cut diamonds, is €2,500-€3,000.
A selection of watches includes a gent’s gold Rolex Tudor watch, with 9ct gold mesh bracelet, boxed with papers, ( €600- €800); a gent’s Cartier Calibre automatic watch with leather strap (€2,300-€2,500); and a lady’s silver-cased Must de Cartier Tank watch, with a black leather strap has an estimate of just €350-€400.
