Lot 141, a pair of vintage sunglasses by Cartier sold for €1,400 – seven times the top estimate (€150- €200). Among other highlights: Lot 133, a collection of 14 gold pocket watch cases €8,800 (€5,000-€6,000); Lot 252, a 1960s three-piece "Independence" sofa suite by Karl Wittmann €8,500 (€3,000-€5,000); Lot 378, Shipping off Howth Harbour, looking towards Ireland's Eye by James Richard Marquis €4,600 (€5,000-€7,000); Lot 278, a Regency mahogany breakfront secrétaire bookcase €4,600 (€4,000-€6,000); Lot 432, Galway Hookers Becalmed, Roundstone Bay, Co. A diamond and onyx-set art deco-style ring, with an 8ct diamond about 13mm in diameter, sold to an overseas buyer for €73,900 (€80,000-€90,0000 [see pic]; an antique Ceylon sapphire & diamond cluster ring, (sapphire 14.70cts with a certificate which states no evidence of heat treatment) €22,100 (€24,000-€28,000).
