Bonhams appoints new representative in Ireland

Kieran O’Boyle leaves Adam’s to join international auction house


The international auction house Bonhams has announced the appointment of Kieran O'Boyle as its new representative in Ireland

Mr O’Boyle, an auctioneer and valuer, is leaving Irish auctioneers Adam’s of St Stephen’s Green, Dublin – where he is currently an associate director – and will take over at Bonhams on nearby Molesworth Street, from December 19th.

He replaces Jane Beattie who established the company's Dublin office in 2012. She is leaving the company "to pursue another career in the art world".

During a 14-year career with Adam’s, Mr O’Boyle was best known for his involvement in its Irish history, antiques and annual Country House Collections auctions.

Excited

A native of Dublin, Mr O’Boyle has a degree in History of Art and Information Studies from UCD and is currently completing a Masters in Digital Marketing at Smurfit Business College.

He also studied art in Florence and is an associate member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland and a Property Services Regulatory Authority licence holder.

He said he was “excited to be joining such a prestigious international company” and that, although “Bonhams is an established name in Ireland”, his “ambition is to broaden its appeal still further”

Worldwide network

Bonhams, founded in 1793, with headquarters in London’s New Bond Street, is one of the world’s largest auctioneers of art and antiques with a worldwide network of offices and regional representatives in 25 countries – offering sales advice and valuation services in 60 specialist areas.

The company does not hold auctions in Ireland but sources items for its major salerooms in cities including London, New York and Hong Kong.
