Sunday (April 12th) Matthews Auction Rooms annual fine art and antiques sale in Headfort House, Kells, Co Meath, at 2pm. Viewing at the house today. Some 600 lots including a document box inscribed "The Marchioness Conyngham" (born 1769; died 1861; although married to an Irish aristocrat, she was the last mistress of King George IV)(€70-€120)

Monday (April 13th) Mullen's Laurel Park, Woodbrook, Bray, Co Wicklow. Fine Art & Furniture Auction at 11am. Some 900 lots including a painting A Farmyard Scene with Horses Watering in a Stream with Ducks and Cattle by John Frederick Herring Jnr €5,000-€7,000; and a "very fine" Edwardian mahogany and satinwood inlaid display cabinet (€1,500-€2,000); and a pair of early 19th-century Turkish saddle pistols (€200-€300).
