Lot 1,022 an album of photographs of "big game" hunting in India (€150-€250).

"Knot, Warp & Weft 18" – a dedicated sale of carpets and rugs. 87 per cent of lots sold.
Lot 61, a late 20th-century carpet based on an original Donegal Design Carpet, after Gavin Morton and GK Robertson, navy ground, with large and bold floral motifs, enclosed by an ivory and peach flower head border €7,500 (€5,000-€7,000).

Wednesday (February 14th) Bonhams, London.
"A Gentleman's Library" auction.
Lot 127, a jewelled gold tie pin, in original fitted box, early 20th century, unmarked – the finial formed as an early motor car, yellow and white metals, set with diamonds, rubies and an emerald, the fitted box with retail stamp inside lid for "West & Son, The King's Jewellers, 18& 19 College Green, Dublin". £1,125 (£1,000 – £1,500).

Thursday (February 15th) Sotheby's, London.

Lot 10, Phryné, a white marble dated 1868 by the Italian sculptor Francesco Barzaghi £477,000 (about €537,000) (£400,000–£600,000);
Lot 18, limited edition photographic print of "Nastassja Kinski and the Serpent, Los Angeles, California, 1981" by Richard Avedon £62,500 (£50,000-£70,000);
Lot 37, a 2,000- year-old Roman terracotta plaque depicting a brothel scene £30,000 (£20,000-£30,000);
Lot 39, a bronze sculpture, The Sluggard by 19th-century English artist, Frederic, Lord Leighton, £47,500 (£18,000-£25,000);
Lot 74, a copy of "Playboy Entertainment for Men Issue #1, [December 1953]" with Marilyn Monroe on the cover £4,000 (£3,000-£5,000).
Among the unsold was Lot 24, an 18th-century French white marble Bust of Antinous ("After the Antique") by an unknown artist (£100,000-£150,000).
