A pair of "macassar ebony veneer" waste-paper baskets £21,250 (£1,000-£1,500); a photographic print Freischwimmer, 56, 2004 by Wolfgang Tillmans £86,500 (£30,000- £40,000); Acrobate Au Repos (oil-on-canvas) by Christian Bérard £68,500 (£40,000-£60,000); a "Hibernia Mirror", depicting the map of Ireland, similar to the mirrors found in The Connaught hotel's bar, £62,500 (£4,000-£6,000); a pair of floor lights by Paul Dupré-Lafon £62,500 (£30,000-£50,000); a pair of "Orion" side tables, designed in 2011 by Nicolas Aubagnac, £43,750 (£3,000-£5,000); a 1963 photograph Disciples X by Mario Testino £20,000 (£4,000-£6,000); a "Gentleman's Compact Wardrobe" £17,500 (£3,000-£5,000); a pair of 1950 table lamps £13,750 (£700-£1,000); two photographic prints, dated 2006, by Steven Klein titled Madonna Rides Again, £11,250 (£10,000- £15,000); a 1996 photograph of Madonna On the Set of Evita by an unknown photographer £1,375 (£300-£500).

Still Life, Vase with Daisies and Poppies by Vincent van Gogh $61.8 million ($30million-$50 million); Chariot (bronze sculpture) by Alberto Giacometti $101 million (estimate on request); Tête (stone sculpture) by Amedeo Modigliani $70.7 million – a new world record for this artist at auction.
Overall, the sale realised $422.1 million, the highest total for any auction in Sotheby’s 270-year history.
