Eclectic elegance of a trio of sofas

THE SITTINGROOM of 20 Seafort Parade has a neutral, understated elegance

THE SITTINGROOM of 20 Seafort Parade has a neutral, understated elegance. Look closely and while everything is in perfect harmony, very little actually matches.

The three very different sofas - a chesterfield in walnut leather, a Kenmare two-seater in Romo Cordelia Mole fabric and a two-and-a-half-seater sofa in macro suede - were all custom-made by the Sofa Factory (01 4546877). The footstool was also made in the Sofa Factory. Every classically-styled room needs a chandelier but it's not always necessary to spend a fortune to get the look. This one came from Arnotts and cost under €300.

Dulux Crème Brulée on the walls tones perfectly with the furniture. Roman blinds work well on the sash windows: they were made by Sutton Ward interiors (087 2526526) using Italian Sati fabric from the Nature range. The large bevel-edged mirror over the fireplace came from Dún Laoghaire Glass (01 2809946).
