Capel Developments has had a highly successful launch of its latest apartment scheme at the former Linden Convalescent Home in Blackrock, Co Dublin, selling 30 apartments off the plans last weekend at a total value of over £9 million.
Virtually all the buyers are owner-occupiers, many of them planning to trade down from large houses in the area over the coming years. For that reason the main demand was for the largest and most expensive apartments, particularly two-bedroom units with 1,200 sq ft and costing from £410,000 to £485,000. Three-bedroom penthouses also sold particularly well at £350,000 each. Catherine O'Connor, of selling agents Hamilton Osborne King, will be taking bookings on the site next Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the remaining 23 apartments, including eight two-bedroom apartments facing the courtyard which will have 900 sq ft and cost £285,000.
